Is there life outside of Legos?

We play with Legos probably about 50% of the day at our house.  Not 50% of play time - 50% of the DAY!!! If we're not eating, bathing, or cleaning, we are playing with Legos.

To Matthew, there is no such thing as too many Legos. I'm always amazed at what he brings me. All his creations or perfectly symmetrical and very creative. He can also do the Lego sets for ages 8-14 completely independently. This guy is a Lego maniac.

Lily and Sara get in on the action as well. I was playing Barbies with Lily and she said that she had 2 Barbies that wanted to get married. Then she asked me, "but where's the temple?" so we got to work and built a temple for the Barbies to get married in. Matthew was more than happy to encourage playing with Barbies if it meant including Legos.  When Sara got home she added a basement to the temple so they could "eat lunch" she said.

The Children's Museum in our area has a Lego exhibit right now and they have a monthly contest. This month's theme is "On Water - Sea-worthy vessels" Matthew built these 2 aqua pod racers and Sara built the grandstands for people to watch the race.

I knew Mathew would be a Lego genius when he could snap together Duplos before he was 2. It was love at first sight for that kid!

Oh yes we have Lego addictions at our house!! No one can play with them enough. And when certain things get neglected too much, the Legos have to go into exile in the garage until some behavior changes. They are in exile as we speak:) all four of them LOVE Legos!! Make that 6!
